A Huntsville man is pleading guilty to a federal charge after communicating through Craigslist with an undercover detective about having sex with children in Jefferson County, court documents show.
Mark Anthony Carlisle, 62, has agreed to spend five years in federal prison and register as a sex offender, according to a plea agreement that was made public this week in federal court records. Investigators found images of child pornography on Carlisle's computer along with search queries for underage sex photos, records state. Carlisle described in detail what he wanted to do sexually with the woman and the children. He also was planning trips to visit the family for sex in Jefferson County.
Carlisle additionally asked for the phone of one of the children, sent nude photos and requested photos back. In Augustpolice served a search warrant at Carlisle's home in Huntsville, where they recovered his computer with the nearly pornographic images, court documents allege. Carlisle has agreed to plead guilty to one count of receiving child pornography, in exchange for the dismissal of four other charges, including enticement of.

A hearing is set for Sept. Attorney Jay Town is asking the judge to place Carlisle on supervised release for the remainder of his life after he gets out of prison and to require he undergo sex offender treatment.
The plea agreement also requires Carlisle to register as a sex offender and could prohibit any contact between Carlisle and any children younger than 18, records show. Town also is asking the judge to prohibit Carlisle from having a computer or other device that has internet access, unless he agrees to pay for software that monitors his use and allows a probation officer to access the computer, according to the plea agreement.
